Teaching and eating!

I taught 3 private one hour violin lessons today. I really honestly love my students because growing up, I always admired and looked up to my teachers. One of my teachers in particular had a great impact on my formative teenage years, both as a violinist and as a person. I feel like I am forever so much in debt to him, for helping me to become who I am today. I know it sounds a little corny, but thanks for bearing with me. :) Before that, I got a bunch of papers filed, cleaned off my computer desk a bit, canceled FRS energy drinks (which I do like, but I have a backlog of several months that I need to use up, plus it will be nice not having the extra $40 every month on my credit card!), packaged a CD to mail (going to the post office tomorrow), and read some of "Eclipse" which is really cute! There might have to be a book report on the whole series!

As for eats this afternoon, it was a little strange. Before teaching, I had a bowl of sauteed veggies (onion, purple cabbage, swiss chard) and butternut squash fries.

I was "snack-y" all afternoon, so I had my other half of a Think thin bar (it was the brownie flavor--OK, but not great. I actually really like bars, so it's significant that I didn't care for this one. However, I love the high quality protein!)

Ingredients: Protein Blend (Calcium Caseinate, Whey Protein Isolate, Soy Protein Isolate), Glycerin, Coating (Maltitol, Cocoa Butter, Chocolate Liquor, Sodium Caseinate, Dairy Oil, Soya Lecithin, Natural Flavors, Salt), Maltitol Syrup, Cocoa Powder, Water, Ground Almonds, Crisped Soy Nuggets (Soy Protein Isolate, Rice Flour, Salt), Cocoa Butter, Chocolate Liquor, Soya Lecithin,Tricalcium Phosphate, Natural Flavors, Salt.

I also had half of a Black Cherry-Almond Clif bar which is delicious! I used to shy away from them, because they are pretty high in carbs and sugar and low in protein, but I love how cheap they are, and it's still basically real, minamally processed ingredients, which whole grains! From their website:

Ingredients: Organic Brown Rice Syrup, ClifPro® (Soy Rice Crisps [Soy Protein Isolate, Rice Flour, Malt Extract], Organic Roasted Soybeans, Organic Soy Flour), Organic Rolled Oats, ClifCrunch® (Apple Fiber, Organic Oat Fiber, Organic Milled Flaxseed, Inulin [Chicory Extract], Psyllium), Dry Roasted Almonds, Dried Cherries, Organic Evaporated Cane Juice, Soy White Chocolate (Organic Evaporated Cane Juice, Cocoa Butter, Soy Flour, Soy Lecithin, Natural Flavors), Organic Fig Paste, Almond Butter, Natural Flavors, Sea Salt, Citric Acid.

After I taught the first lesson, I was still hungry so I had an Oikos (plain) with some lite Muesli from the WF bulk bins (I've been sampling a bunch of different things from them! It doesn't seem so expensive if you only buy 4 or 5 ounces!) But I was *still* hungry, so I had a banana with "Natural" PB (but it's the stuff I mentioned in a previous post, with sugar and palm oil!)

Then after teaching I wanted to go to the gym (which I meant to do this afternoon, but didn't happen) so I didn't eat until afterwards, but a friend wanted to go out, so I had to grab the following really quickly:

1 slice of Rudi's Whole Wheat bread with
2 slices Fat Free Kraft cheese (I love this stuff and it has calcium and protein, so I ignore how processed it is!)
Another big bowl of the sauteed veggies tonight.
The other half of the Black cherry almond Clif bar
1 large Miller Lite draught (110 cals? It was a bit more than a bottle, which has 95)

I forgot to mention that I had thrown some Chocolate Carmel Protein powder in my oatmeal this morning and I had a couple more handfuls of the cranberry trail mix!

OK, lovelies--I'm off to read Eclipse in bed before falling asleep! Goodnight!
